East African Community: EAC Treaty and challenges to the Community

Abstract

This Occasional Paper is divided into two parts. In Part A the Counsel to the Community, Hon. Wilbert T. K. Kaahwa provides an overview about the EACTreaty. In Part B he discusses selected challenges of the East African Community. It is hoped that, this Study will contribute to provide some of the information about EAC and will be used as a working and discussion paper for Civil Society, stakeholders of the Private Sector as well as professionals and students from universities in East Africa. The Study is also expected to generate debate on those salient issues it raises. Therefore any comments on this document would be welcome for consideration in the works of Secretariat.
