    Abstract/Overview

The One Stop Border Post (OSBP) concept is a unique approach to improving efficiency at land border crossings to facilitate trade, the movement of people, and maintain security, by combining the stops required for processing exit and entry formalities of adjoining States at one location. In Africa, OSBPs have been gradually introduced over the last decade, following studies that observed that African States were not able to fully benefit from intra-African trade due to long waiting times at ports, borders, and checkpoints, and high logistics costs. This situation is also particularly acute for landlocked countries in Africa, where border delays and transport costs are among the highest the world1
