dc.description.abstractThe Strategy provides a background, rationale and a situational analysis of the Regional Issues as a basis for the strategic direction of this Strategy. The strategy identifies key issues and proposes the following objectives to address wildlife crime:- Strengthening governance through policy harmonization and law enforcement capacity development, strengthening law enforcement, establishment and support of regional inter-agency mechanisms and streamlining cross-border and regional cooperation, increasing capacity of local communities to pursue sustainable livelihoods, promoting research and development; and raising public awareness. Additionally, the strategy provides an implementation, monitoring and evaluation framework to track performance and measure success.en
